Jakes Bar Grill in Billings

It’s an okay bar and restaurant combo. You see these lots of places, lots of cities. Comfortable decor, reasonably attentive staff. Drink and beer selection average to good. Food is average to good. Just isn’t very different or confident enough to try a more adventurous menu. Price a bit high for what it is.

Always great service at Jake's. Never disappointed with my dinner or the service.

Ann and I decided to take a chance on Jake's for New Year's Eve. In spite of the great reviews, the busiest night of the year is risky so we got a 6pm reservation. When we arrived the place was packed, but we were seated within five minutes of arrival. By the end of the evening we were sold on Jake's. The atmosphere was festive, impressive and relaxed. Our waitress Shayla was delightful and attentive. The food was superb.

This place is always has a lively crowd. They have bar, dining and private seating to accommodate any type of guest. They have daily specials and fresh made soups of the day. They always have an amazing French onion soup daily. Lunch specials and dinner specials keep their menu fresh. Amazing Lobster bisque. Amazing burgers

Amazing food! Was just in town for one night with my husband, the hostess gave us water as soon as we sat down which was something I’ve never had and quite enjoyed! Server was polite and quick to help us. If you love a good steak, this is definitely the place to go and worth the price. It’s MORE than enough food to share! Very pleased! Mixed drinks were reasonably priced!

Service was bad and took forever to get our food. Then our prime rib was cold. The baked potato was mushy. It wasn't that busy !

We made a reservation on Open Table and were seated in a nice booth right away. Everyone working here was very friendly and helpful. The decor was much more upscale than I expected after looking at Google reviews. It had a fun energetic atmosphere. Our experience could not have been nicer. I had the seasonal huckleberry glazed salmon. Oh wow! And the Montana steak was cooked perfectly. Our server was professional and friendly. I would definitely eat here again.

Food was really good. Service was really bad. Also, don't go to this restaurant if you're looking to split checks, they don't do it.....Not sure why, but they don't.

Terrible service! I ordered the Prarie Mule and was given what appeared to be the wrong drink because the garnish was incorrect. The waitress Riley insisted that they use limes on all of their mules. I showed her the menu which states there should be a cucumber garnish and fresh blueberries. She said well there are probably blueberries on the bottom . I said no there are not. She said well we dont have cucumber . I said I dont want it then. She took the drink away. Good service does not include arguing with the customer. The correct response would have been "I'm sorry can I get you something else?" Instead of talking back to me about why she served me the wrong drink.The steak ordered rare was cooked medium. The soup was mediocre at best. The menu is limited and only has 3 steaks for a steak house ??!

Great food. Great service. Fish and chips were like fish balls how they were cut. Very flaky mild fish. Fries were great. Several options, regular, shoestring, or sweet potato.

Service is outstanding. Super nice people. Food is nummy and if you can save room for dessert...WOW. had 12oz prime rib. Perfect.

The cocktails are out of this world! Especially the martini choices(and there's a lot of them). Ths staff is very gracious and accommodating.

Close at 11pm but stop serving food at 9:30pm. Because of...Covid. That makes complete sense. Update your friggin hours.

Delicious food. Everything prepared the way we asked. Servers were well trained and not a lot of chatter amongst themselves so made for great atmosphere

We were traveling through town and had a friend recommend Jakes! We ate in the bar and had a delightful waitress named Chris! We split a burger, thinking we’d get something else but the burger was so big and yummy we decided to go straight to desert! Chris suggested Butter cake, so we went with her recommendation Oh YUM!!! We will definitely come back on our next trip through!

For the price, there are way better steaks in town. Our was overcooked. Drinks were ok, tasted a little watered down. The best part of our meal was the appetizer, which our server seemed very confused when we ordered it. You can get a steak twice as good at The Buffalo Block or Enzos for the same price.

I have been here once, heard good things. The service was good and all the food was really good. All was good until I had to go change my 2 year olds diaper and there was no changing station in the bathroom. Good thing shes small because I had to lay her on the counter in between the sinks. Even my husband said, "looks like they dont like our kind in there."

I really enjoy the atmosphere at these restaurants -- elegant decor, pleasant lighting, usually not too loud with some quiet jazz or something similar playing in the background. The service is always very professional. The food is average to pretty good and seems to vary in quality from visit to visit. I've enjoyed the Crab & Artichoke Salad sandwich for lunch and also the Korean Noodle Salad. The roasted duck at the downtown location was very good and I highly recommend the spicy potato cakes as a side. They also have a pretty good wine list.

Terrific Prime Rib & Ribeye. Great service. Drinks moderately priced. Good time had by the whole family.

On vacation and Jake's was recommended by motel. My wife and I had excellent meals with terrific service. If back in area would we visit again? Yes! We arrived right at 5pm and immediately seated. Was getting busy when we left. Enjoyed the experience.

My family and I got to use their backroom so the kids had a place to run around. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. 5 stars!

Very classy place. Owners are very nice people. Kitchen is clean and food is great.

Had an awesome lunch today. The waitress however was not good. She gave us someone elses bill at first. Then after 10 minutes she brought the correct one. Bill was $42.25 & I gave her a hundred dollar bill. She brought back $43.00 in change. After a few minutes I told her she shorted me. She eventually brought back the correct change. Not impressed.

Jake's is almost always a good experience. Large open bar area. Good food. Wine, beer, liquor all good stuff. Nice staff.Montana Steak Salad is outstanding. Especially with a good red wine.

We always have great service. I really love the million dollar salad, the sliders and the nachos. Make sure you arrive early in the bar, it fills up quickly.

The fish is very well cooked, flavored, and tasted just as it should. It was brought to the table at just the right temperature. It could have used some more garlic butter salsa that they spoke of, it also could have been a little bigger, but, all in all I would say it’s a very good pick if you’re not very hungry and are going for something that is light with big flavor. When they brought the cheesecake to the table it was very full in color and very explosive in taste. It was very creamy and that flowed with every attack of the spoon. Every bite was full of flavor and very soft to the pallet. The coffee was very black and robust in flavor and complimented the cheesecake like doves flying in a hurricane. I would highly recommend this at the end of your meal. The experience will sure take you to the highest mountain top in Montana with the softest snow.

Oh my. This place was wonderful. The customer service was great, their food was very delicious. As a visitor from Arizona, I tried their bison burger. That was sooo good that I wanted to get more. Great variety of food, beer, drinks, and a great service.

Food was delicious and everything was flavorful. The waitress was pleasant service was fast and easy. We noticed after we ordered the table in another section being announced all the Huckleberry specials on the menu. We looked at each other going ooo those sound wonderful. Well too late now :-|. Still was great food. I had steak tacos. I can't remember what my friend had ,but she recommended Jake's because she loved coming here.

Amazing food, great atmosphere, I would definitely go there again. It’s too bad we don’t live in Billings it would be one of our favorite places in town where are your local on the road and you’re looking for an amazing steak this is the place I would recommend
